Adaptibles Cookie Policy
Last Updated: May 2026
1. What This Policy Covers
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how Adaptibles CIC uses them on the Adaptibles platform at www.adaptibles.com, what choices you have about their use, and how to exercise those choices.
We have written this policy in plain language because we believe you deserve to understand exactly what is happening on your device when you visit our platform, without needing a technical background to make sense of it.
This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy at www.adaptibles.com/privacy and our Terms and Conditions at www.adaptibles.com/terms.
2. What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device, either in your browser or on your hard drive, when you visit it. Cookies are widely used to make websites work correctly, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to website owners about how their site is being used.
Cookies are not programs and they cannot carry viruses or malware. They cannot access other files on your device. A cookie can only be read by the website that created it.
In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies including:
- Local storage: a browser-based storage mechanism that allows websites to store data locally on your device
- Session storage: similar to local storage but cleared when you close your browser tab
- Pixels and tracking tags: small pieces of code that can track user behaviour and record events such as page loads or button clicks
Where this policy refers to 'cookies', it covers all of these technologies unless stated otherwise.
3. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies for four broad purposes.
- Strictly necessary cookies: required for the platform to function. These cannot be switched off.
- Functional cookies: remember your preferences and settings to improve your experience.
- Analytics cookies: help us understand how the platform is being used so we can improve it.
- Marketing cookies: used to deliver relevant content and measure the effectiveness of our communications. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.
4. The Cookies We Use
4.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the platform to work.
They cannot be disabled because without them, features such as logging in, navigating between pages, and completing purchases would not function.
No personal information is used for marketing purposes through these cookies.
Legal basis for use: Legitimate interests.
4.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies allow the platform to remember choices you have made and provide enhanced, personalised features. For example, they remember your accessibility preferences, your language settings, and whether you have dismissed certain notices.
Legal basis for use: Consent. You can disable functional cookies via the cookie settings panel, but doing so may affect your experience. For example, your accessibility preferences may not be saved between sessions.
4.3 Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors use the platform. The information collected is aggregated and does not personally identify individual users. We use this data to measure platform performance, identify areas for improvement, and understand which features are most valuable to our learners.
Legal basis for use: Consent.
We use PostHog for product analytics after consent has been accepted. We configure analytics to avoid collecting form contents, passwords, payment details, identity documents, and other sensitive user-provided information.
Data collected via analytics cookies is processed by PostHog in accordance with their privacy policies and our data processing agreement with them.
4.4 Marketing and Communications Cookies
We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or allow advertisers to place cookies on the Adaptibles platform. We do not sell advertising space and we do not share user data with advertising networks.
We may use first-party cookies to track whether users have engaged with specific communications or completed particular journeys on the platform, for example to avoid sending a welcome email to someone who has already completed onboarding. These are functional in nature and are listed in section 4.2 above.
If we introduce any marketing or retargeting cookies in the future, we will update this policy and seek fresh consent before doing so.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on the Adaptibles platform are set by third-party services that we use to operate the platform. These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies which govern how they use the data they collect. We have listed the relevant third-party cookies in section 4 above.
The third-party services that may set cookies include:
- Stripe: our payment processor, which sets cookies necessary to handle transactions securely.
- PostHog: our analytics provider, which sets cookies or similar storage after consent to help us understand platform usage.
We do not allow any third party to place cookies on our platform for advertising or tracking purposes beyond those disclosed in this policy.
6. Your Cookie Choices
6.1 Cookie Settings Panel
When you first visit the Adaptibles platform, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept or decline all cookies.
You can update your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the cookie settings link in the platform footer.
If you withdraw consent for a category of cookies, those cookies will be removed from your device where technically possible.
6.2 Browser Controls
All modern browsers allow you to manage cookies through your browser settings. You can typically:
- View all cookies stored on your device.
- Delete some or all existing cookies.
- Block all cookies from being set.
- Block cookies from specific websites.
- Set your browser to alert you each time a cookie is set.

Please be aware that blocking all cookies will affect the functionality of most websites, including Adaptibles.
Strictly necessary cookies cannot be blocked through our cookie settings panel, but you can block them via your browser settings.
6.3 Opt Out of Analytics
If you wish to opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. This add-on prevents Google Analytics from collecting information about your visits.
7. Accessibility of Cookie Controls
We are conscious that cookie consent interfaces can themselves present accessibility barriers, particularly for neurodivergent users or users with cognitive differences who may find complex layered consent flows difficult to navigate
Our cookie consent panel is designed to be:
- Operable by keyboard navigation
- Compatible with screen readers
- Written in plain, clear language without legal jargon
- Structured so that the most common choices, accept all or reject non-essential, are immediately available without requiring navigation through sub-menus
If you encounter difficulty with our cookie consent panel, please contact us at support@adaptibles.com and we will assist you in setting your preferences manually.
8. Cookie Retention Periods
Cookies are either session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a specified period or until you delete them.
The retention period for each cookie we use is set out in the tables in section 4.
We review our cookie list and retention periods at least annually and update this policy accordingly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our use of cookies, applicable law, or the services we use.
Where we introduce new non-essential cookies, we will seek fresh consent before they are set.
We will notify users of material changes to this policy via a notice on the platform and, where appropriate, by email.
The date at the top of this document reflects when it was last updated.
